How Welcoming Are Indians Of Senior Living Projects?

With the concept of senior living gathering momentum in India, we spoke to a few folks, young and senior, to gauge if they are willing to opt for such projects Senior living projects are a great option for someone like me (read: widow). But I will invest in such a project once I feel I am unable to take care of myself and need assistance. I believe such facilities should be encouraged as they are more sophisticated than old-age homes. It’s always good to have our children around but it’s time that people start thinking practically.

Another milestone — Live liver transplant done at PGI

The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here has accomplished a live liver transplant, bringing renewed hope to patients battling severe liver ailments. A surgical team of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology demonstrated their expertise recently by performing a life-saving liver transplant on a patient, where his wife donated a portion of her liver.

One-family ownership rule for entire city: Chandigarh

In view of the January 10 Supreme Court judgment regarding “apartmentalisation” in Chandigarh, the UT Administration has taken certain decisions regarding transfer and registration of residential buildings in the city. These decisions will be applicable only to residential properties in entire Chandigarh with effect from February 10. According to an order issued by the administration, building plans/revised building plans of only those residential buildings where all co-owners belong to the same family (i.e. no co-owner should be stranger/outside family) will be considered as per rules.
